Weekend at Grammy's

Last weekend Jason and I had a chance to spend some time with friends. It was a lot of fun and some much needed r & r, but with Taylor only being 10 weeks old and it being our first time away from her overnight, I was a bit anxious. As you can see from these pics, we had nothing to worry about... the kids had as much fun as we did!

Doctor recommended 8

Well, last night Taylor slept through the night for the first time! From 9:30pm-6:00am she was out cold! I got that nervous-must go in and check her breathing-feeling, but I was so proud. Unfortunately, her 2 1/2 year old brother didn't quite make it through the night. For some reason Kyler was awake at 4am requesting hugs and kisses. Nice request, just not in the middle of the night. Maybe tonight all 4 of us can get our 8...

She seemed to sleep the day away as well. Here they are both out giving mommy a little break. Thank goodness for overlapping nap times!

Hail to the Chief!

You might be surprised to know that one of the youngest DeKuiper's in the family is most excited about our new President. He has been cheering for Obama since before last November and is excited every time he sees his picture or video. This morning when Kyler woke up and walked out into the living room I had the Today Show on. And of course with the hoopla of the inauguration, President Obama was all over the T.V. screen. Kyler's first words of the morning were, "There's Obama!" I proceeded to tell him that Obama was becoming our official president today. Kyler then excitedly responded, "He's going to bring us presents!"
Congrats and good luck, Mr. President!

The Holiday in Review

The last couple months were great! After Taylor's birth we got excited about the next big birthday, Jesus', of course! The tree was up and lit and Christmas tunes were playing before Taylor was even 2-weeks old. There waslots of fun to be had during the holiday season! We're a little sad it's all over. Kyler still has the spirit in his heart as he continues to belt out "Santa Claus is Coming To Town" frequently.

Kyler shined during his debut on stage.
The kids got to meet Santa. Kyler was a little shy once he came face-to-face with the big man in red.

Uncle Brett was in town to hang with family and friends.

And we had a very Merry Christmas!

...and baby makes 4

We'll, it's been over a year since I created this blog and yes, this is my first post. I guess it is time to get posting!
A lot has happened since then. Miss Taylor Ann joined our family two short months ago and has already changed so much (as has Kyler since January 08).
Here they are on November 16, 2008, Taylor's 1-day birthday.
