What a Weekend

It was so nice to have a long and beautiful weekend to enjoy. We opted out of our typical Memorial Day weekend camping trip and headed out for some day-trip fun. Kyler and Grandpa Stro enjoyed the inflatables as Taylor and Grammy looked on. It made for a nice and relaxing afternoon for Jason and I.

Kyler really wanted to get a tatto. As the lady airbrushed Tigger onto his forearm we began to question our parenting... Are we setting ourselves up for some teenage tat trouble?

A Trailer for Two

We were blessed with another beautiful day and had to break Taylor into one of our favorite warm-weather activities... biking! I loaded the two into the trailer and away we went down the driveway. Down and back twice was all Taylor could take, but she was all smiles before we took off. I guess our trips to the Swirl will have to be by car this year.

A Smiley Six Months

I can't believe it, but our little Taylor is 6 months old.

My, how she's grown!

At the Range

On Saturday daddy and Kyler headed out to the golf range. A year ago for Kyler's 2nd birthday we jumped the gun a bit and upgraded Kyler's plastic Snoopy clubs to a real set. They were a bit heavy for him then so he opted for plastic over iron. But this year it's a different story. He has been out swinging in our yard with Jason a lot this spring (which is pretty much just a sand trap!)
At the range they each got a bucket and as Kyler swung at a few he said to Jason, "now we have to go get them." When Jason told him some one else does that for you, he couldn't contain his excitement or gratitude and said, "Thank you, daddy!"

What a swing:)

Run, Daddy, Run

Saturday Jason ran the 5/3 River Bank Run 25k. Although Taylor and Kyler didn't get to see daddy run, we are all so proud of him! Kyler was even sporting his own hardware like daddy's on Saturday afternoon (though his was plastic). The kiddos might be able to watch daddy run next year. He had a goal of under 2 hours and came in at 2 hours 3 seconds. Hopefully we will get to cheer on Ryan and Heidie next year, too. We're proud of you guys!!!

The rain held out until the 25Kers lined up.

Despite the rain, downtown was buzzing with excitement and everyone was cheering one another on.

3 for 3!

I can't believe it, but Kyler turned 3-years-old yesterday. We celebrated with three days of fun!

Saturday: Chuck E. Cheese
We headed off to have some fun at the mouse's house with Michael and Sami. The kids enjoyed themselves, it was just getting there that was the challenge (ask me about it some other time... It's a good story!)
Sunday: The Party!
After church we had our families over for some b-day fun. Once again we were blessed with a beautiful afternoon and lots of loving family. The kids got to play outside and everyone enjoy the company and the sunshine. Kyler enjoyed the many generous gifts he was given. We are trying to instill gratitude in him as we encourage him to say thank you. I wasn't sure if it was sinking in, but it was so sweet once the last guests left her turned and looked at me in his sweetest voice to say, "Thank you for the party!"
Monday: The B-day
The four of us had a low-key birthday dinner of Kyler's favorite mac & cheese and popcorn chicken from the deli (not the healthiest, but it was the birthday boy's special day).
It was a fun few days and its been a fun few years! They've gone too fast!
We love you K-man!
